Time For A Change
It has now been over two years since my last site update and let me tell you, it’s been long overdue. A lot has happened since that time; I’ve hand-coded dozens of sites, I've seen my first two years working in the field, and I’ve learned more about the real world than I ever thought I could. Needless to say, the old site was no longer an accurate representation of my skills as a designer, or as a developer for that matter.
Of course I can't really talk about this redesign without mentioning what sparked it: my departure from Sposto Interactive. After working for 2 years in the same place I grew up in, I decided it was time to step out of my comfort zone. I made the decision to relocate to Philadelphia and start looking for a job in the city. It was a given that a new website was in order, and I began working tirelessly on what you are now looking at.
For the new site, I have redesigned and restructured my portfolio to make it all the more usable and easy to navigate. Images are bigger and detail shots provide a simpler way to look at the pieces as if they were right in front of you. The about page now provides more insight and includes a quick list of my skills.
This update is going to be the first of a few phases. The following phase will see the implementation of Expression Engine for the "blog" and "links" sections. There will also be additional updates to the portfolio sections including more examples of sites I’ve built for Yahoo!, Nikon, & State Farm.
So without further ado, I am insanely excited to present to you all that is andystates.com v3.0. Click around and let me know what you think. Any feedback, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated.
